SWUYN JOINS UNVEILING OF BAYELSA STATE CENTRE FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SECRETARIAT COMPLEX IN YENAGOA

Yenagoa, July 24, 2025

The Centre for Youth Development, Bayelsa State, held a landmark unveiling ceremony of its Secretariat Complex at Okaka, Yenagoa, on Thursday, drawing a distinguished crowd of government officials, youth leaders, and stakeholders committed to youth empowerment.

The Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN), Bayelsa State Chapter, played a prominent role at the event. Leading the SWUYN delegation was Chapter Chairman, Comrade Zikenah T. Coker, accompanied by the National Financial Secretary, Comrade Timipa Ovuru, and a strong team of State EXCO members. These included the Acting State Secretary, State Financial Secretary, State Treasurer, State Head of Training & Empowerment, Head of Female Youth Empowerment, and key resource persons.

The SWUYN team joined the Director General of the Centre for Youth Development, Comrade Robert Igali, for a group photograph during the occasion. Comrade Igali, celebrated for his dynamic leadership and dedication to youth transformation, was praised for driving the successful establishment of the Secretariat Complex.

Dignitaries present included the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, past Directors General of the Centre, senior government officials, the Provost of BYSCOHTECH, and a host of friends and well-wishers who graced the occasion with enthusiasm.

The new Secretariat Complex is envisioned to enhance the operational capacity of the Centre for Youth Development and serve as a catalyst for youth innovation, training, and inclusive empowerment across the state.

SWUYN remains committed to partnering in strategic efforts that create opportunities and build a brighter future for Bayelsa’s youth.
