“No More Waiting” – SWUYN President Declares Youths’ Era Has Begun

Abuja, Nigeria – In a fiery International Youth Day address, the National President of the Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN), Comrade Preye V. Tambou, has called for an end to what he described as the “polite waiting” of Nigerian youths, declaring that the era of passivity is over.

Speaking with urgency and passion, Tambou denounced the decades-long neglect and exploitation of Nigeria’s young population, accusing political leaders of treating youths as “afterthoughts” and “decorations wheeled out for rallies and forgotten after elections.”

“We are not the future – we are the present,” he said. “We will no longer accept a seat in the waiting room of national progress while our talents rot in idleness.”

The SWUYN leader warned that no nation can thrive while its youths remain unemployed, underpaid, and unempowered, stressing that the consequences of ignoring young people would be dire for Nigeria’s development.

Tambou’s message to the youths was equally uncompromising: “Enough of waiting for handouts. Enough of being used as tools for others’ ambitions. Organize, build your skills, guard your dignity, and take your place in this nation’s leadership.”

He vowed to continue raising his voice, “shaking tables,” and confronting any authority that undermines the place of Nigerian youths in national progress.

“The fight for the Nigerian youth is the fight for Nigeria itself – and I am here for that fight,” he declared, drawing cheers from youth groups in attendance.

Observers say Tambou’s speech reflects growing frustration among Nigeria’s young population, many of whom face high unemployment, limited opportunities, and disillusionment with political leadership.
