From Skills to Starter Kits: SWUYN Celebrate Minister Abubakar Momoh for Practical Empowerment in Bayelsa

On behalf of the Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN) and every participant in the just-concluded Unskilling and Empowerment Training Programme in Bayelsa State, we extend our profound appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Momoh, for fulfilling his promise and delivering hope in action.

From Day 1 (Arrival and Accreditation) where our members were warmly received and provided with branded training materials, through Day 2 (Skill Segmentation and Training) which focused on Shoe Making, Bag Making, and Catering Services, and Day 3 (Conclusion) when participants were taken on practical tours, awarded Certificates of Participation, and empowered with starter kits, up until Day 4 (Departure), every stage of this programme reflected sincerity, excellence, and impact.

This is more than training; it is a lifeline. It is a deliberate investment in Nigerian youths, transforming frustration into productivity and unemployment into opportunity. By keeping his word, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Momoh has not only touched lives but also set a clear standard for leadership anchored on action and integrity.

To President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, we salute your foresight for appointing leaders who are translating the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible realities. This initiative stands as proof that your government is intentional about empowering youths, not with promises alone, but with platforms, tools, and opportunities to thrive.

As a youth-based organisation with millions of members across Nigeria, SWUYN operates with established structures that include a Board of Trustees (BoT), National Executive Council (NEC), Regional Executive Council (REC), State Executive Council (SEC), and Local Government Area Executive Council (LGAEC) chapters across the six regions and 37 States including the FCT, Abuja. Beyond this programme, we look forward to more collaborations, strategic partnerships, support, and contracts that will enable us to extend empowerment opportunities across our broad membership nationwide.

The unemployed youths of Nigeria will remember this intervention as a turning point that inspires resilience, multiplies productivity, and creates ripples of economic growth across our communities.
