SWUYN EXPRESSES DELIGHT TO MINISTER OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ON THE LAUNCH OF NiYA STARTUP GRANT 2.0 & NiYA GIGS

The Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN) expresses profound delight and commendation to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, for the successful rollout of NiYA StartUp Grant 2.0 and the official launch of NiYA Gigs another visionary stride shaping the future of Nigerian youths.

This landmark announcement was not just a policy declaration; it demonstrated a renewed national commitment to empowering young Nigerians and building an inclusive economy where no young person is left behind.

The Honourable Minister’s leadership continues to illuminate a path where youth dreams are supported, funded, and scaled for national growth.

SWUYN National President, Preye V. Tambou, extends special appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose steadfast dedication to youth empowerment has strengthened reforms in taxation, regulation, digital innovation, access to finance, and job creation.

His message that “when the youth rise, the nation rises” echoes the aspirations of millions of young Nigerians seeking opportunities to thrive.

The empowerment of over 200 youth-led startups with ₦1 million each, and more than 100 informal-sector operators with ₦500,000 each, marks a transformative point in Nigeria’s economic inclusion strategy.

These interventions are not mere grants they are strategic investments in a generation ready to innovate, build, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Equally remarkable is the unveiling of NiYA Gigs, a digital work platform connecting Nigerian youths to global outsourcing and remote-employment opportunities.

In synergy with NiYA Academy and NiYA Jobs, the Ministry has built a complete ecosystem that takes a young person from learning, to building, to earning.

This is not just policy it is nation building at its highest level.

SWUYN Calls for Formal Partnership with the Ministry

As an organization committed to the holistic welfare of unemployed and underemployed youths, SWUYN hereby expresses strong interest in a formal strategic partnership with the Ministry of Youth Development and the broader NiYA ecosystem.

SWUYN believes such collaboration will:

Extend NiYA outreach to thousands of unregistered and hard-to-reach youths nationwide;

Strengthen community-level sensitization and programme implementation;

Provide grassroots data and insights for youth-focused policies;

Accelerate adoption of NiYA Gigs, NiYA Academy, and related digital platforms;

Ensure inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized youth groups.

SWUYN stands ready, aligned, and fully committed to the Honourable Minister’s transformative vision for Nigerian youths.

Message to Beneficiaries

SWUYN congratulates all beneficiaries of NiYA StartUp Grant 2.0 and urges them to convert this seed support into innovation, stability, and long-term prosperity.

These grants are not the finish line they are the fuel for a new journey.
We look forward to celebrating their success stories in the months and years ahead.

In the spirit of nation building and youth development, SWUYN salutes the exemplary leadership of Hon. Ayodele Olawande and reaffirms its willingness to collaborate in driving sustainable, nationwide youth empowerment.
