SWUYN NDDC Scholarship Applicants Express Disappointment Over Exclusion of Members from NDDC Scholarship
The Society for the Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN) has expressed deep disappointment over the exclusion of its members from the recently announced list of beneficiaries of the NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme.
Despite submitting names of eligible and qualified applicants, SWUYN has confirmed that not even a single slot was allocated to its members. This development has raised serious concerns about transparency and fairness in the selection process.
According to credible reports, the scholarship slots were allegedly distributed among the “cream de la cream” of the Niger Delta, with only a few awarded on merit. Even more alarming are revelations that some individuals who never applied for the scholarship ended up receiving success letters.
As at today, a pre-departure briefing is being held for the successful candidates, leaving many genuinely qualified applicants—especially members of grassroots organizations like SWUYN—frustrated and excluded.
This outcome has led to widespread disappointment among SWUYN applicants who feel marginalized and unrecognized, despite their commitment to education, development, and empowerment in the region. The organization is calling for greater transparency, inclusivity, and fairness in future NDDC scholarship disbursements.
